State nets C-minus on education report card – Education Week releases annual data on states

Arkansas education’s report card is in and it’s a C-minus.

That’s according to Education Week’s yearly state report card which gives Arkansas a C-minus overall, ranking it 43rd out of 50 states and the District of Columbia. The nation as a whole averages a C.

Arkansas was below average in the following categories: adult outcomes, spending, performance for K-12 achievement and improvement over time.

Those categories are part of the three indices which Education Week tracks. These are the state overview, chance for success and school finance.
