The Sharp County Quorum Court wasted no time getting down to business in its second — and first regularly scheduled — meeting of 2017 on Monday night.
Only two items were on the agenda, both dealing with the county’s 2017 budget. One ordinance set the coroner’s salary for 2017 and the other ordinance brought salaries for county employees up to Arkansas minimum wage.
The first ordinance amended the annual budget to 2017 increased the coroner’s budget by $6,804.65. This puts the budget for the coroner’s office at $13,404.65.
The amount was the minimum that Sharp County Coroner Renee Clay-Circle requested for the county coroner’s office.
