Burge resigns as mayor of Cave City

June 28, 2017

Cave City will begin the search for a new mayor soon.

The Cave City Council went into executive session Tuesday night and emerged with the announcement that Mayor Ron Burge was offering to resign from his position. The council approved Burge’s resignation, which is effective July 14.

It will be up to the city council to appoint a new mayor to fulfill the remainder of Burge’s term. Prior to being mayor, he was a longtime alderman and business owner in Cave City.
