Sometimes parents need a little guidance, especially if they started out in bad situations.

Dr. Kathy Pillow-Price, director of the Arkansas Home Visiting Network, spoke to the Batesville Kiwanis Club on Friday, explaining about what the network does and its current needs.

“It feels like I’m home,” Pillow-Price said. “I’ve lived in Batesville two different times. Last time was five years ago when I was with Lyon College. It’s nice to see so many familiar faces.”

This visit, she was acting as a representative of Arkansas Children’s Hospital.

“Our mission is to make children better today and healthier tomorrow,” Pillow-Price said. “We do that in a lot of ways, not only with our hospitals in Little Rock and northwest Arkansas, but across the state. Our mission is to build stronger families and brighter futures. We do that by serving families with programs that cover prenatal to age 5.”
